Season Recap

26-1. This was the score mockingly hanging from the scoreboard in left field, publicly serving us a reminder that we had not adequately prepared for Little Rock Co-Ed Softball (Lower Division). Two months later, glistening trophy in hand, we gathered and celebrated post-game on the same softball diamond, the scoreboard now blurry due to our champagne-soaked eyes.

A made-for-Disney sports film just waiting to be picked up? You bet. Starring local legends Emily Wheat, Allison Meyer, Hannah Minchow-Proffitt, Anna Applebaum, Ruby DeSantiago, Matt Devlin, and Andy Lovley, this lovable rag-tag crew developed a disturbing affinity for eye-black and an impressive ability to high-five. The league was presided over by High Commissioner Julian Kelly while Brenda Hernandez cemented her role as Number One Fan (NOF) with her standing ovations and self-run concession stand.  Games were often won and often lost, but good times were consistently had on Thursday nights at Interstate Park.

Off-season training has already begun, as one would expect, as Clinton School softballers hope to defend their 7th place World Series title. Spring season begins in March, and the team is looking to add a few key sluggers/sluggettes to the roster. All are welcome. Just be sure you know a good trophy guy.
